We have been in the Medical Transcription Training business since 1997 and are Christian
owned.
MTatHome has had great success of assisting people in working at home in the Medical Transcription Career
Field for years. When we put our Medical Transcription Training Company on the Internet, we did a lot of
research into the other MT Training companies. We wanted to compare the prices of the educational
courses, what they offered vs... The price of what it really took to sale an educational course and the cost
of supporting the students throughout their course training.
We found that some of the Medical Transcription Schools online were way over priced for what it actually cost to
train each student successfully.
We decided to keep our medical transcription training rates as
reasonable as possible so that it gives people that are serious about working at home as an MT a chance to do
so without breaking their bank or having to get a loan to be taught a new career
field.
So
what did MTatHome do to help lower the high training costs?
We
have lowered our regular medical transcription course prices to what they are on the web site now; at times we
do have sales. You will need to check the web site for any current sales and always refresh/reload the
site.
The
reason for lowering our rates is because the tragic events that took place on September 11, 2001 hit close to
home. Not only did we know people that were affected by 9-11-01, we also were affected by it personally when we
had friends and family members that we could not get in touch with for days.
When
something like this happens to the World, we get very sad and upset and want to graciously help in any way that
we can, however when it happens to you or your close family / friends you really have a wakeup call! The fear of
not knowing if your loved ones are okay or not; as well as watching all the people scared for the ones they
loved not knowing if they made it out of the situation okay or not. Sadly, a lot of them did not make it out
okay! Just as the bombing in the OK building several years ago took many lives and many children's lives that
were in the daycare downstairs.
When
a thing like this recently happens you really have to sit back and look at your life and also are considerate of
others’ lives as well and consider how you can willingly help out other people.
Therefore,
we got with our staff, and we discussed how we could assist other people to presently work from their home so
that they are not having to work inside of a building that they might be afraid to go to each day, or that they
may have children that they definitely want to have at home with them instead of having to enroll their children
in a daycare facility. This allows the parent(s) to be with them each day and watch them grow and be there to
assist them in learning while also being able to "work from home" as well.
Please
do not get me wrong working at home in Medical Transcription with children can be very challenging at times
especially if you have a deadline to meet. This is why a lot of stay at home parents that work at home will
sometimes have to hire a baby-sitter to come into their home to watch their child or children while they get
that deadline work completed or set up a routine that the parents will work when the children are at nap time /
play time in their room(s), etc. Having a quiet room which is used only for working, listening to your medical
dictations for transcribing, to make your business calls from, etc. really helps out if you have someone there
to tend to the little ones while you are working in your office!
I
have gotten off the subject of our course costs; however, I wanted to let you know the different ideas on
working at home as an MT with children. We have many more and there is a section for the students to read in the
student area on ways to entertain your child or children while working at home as well as ways to manage a
schedule to working at home and still having time for your family and yourself!
Back
to the subject of why and how we can offer the price we do:
When
we got with the staff we discussed the different ways we could cut the price of the medical transcription course
expenses so that we could also help the new student to be able to afford a reputable /legitimate course. I say
legitimate course because you have to be very careful now days in purchasing any type of "work at home" training
programs. There are so many SCAMS out there and the Internet has only made it easier for these Scam Artists to
attempt to manipulate people into purchasing their product!
The
cost of their products does not necessarily mean that it is or is not a RIP OFF any more because there are scams
out there that are under $200.00 and there are Scams out there that are over $1000.00! Therefore, be VERY
careful! We are very active in supporting to get rid of the SCAMS out there on the Internet trying to
Sale their "so called MT Training or Work at home programs"
When a company willingly submits a job to us which is not a "REAL" Job, we remove the submission and Ban that
company from ever submitting to our company ever again if they ask for money to "hire".
We
let you know where to purchase such items as electronic dictionary, AHDI (AAMT) Book of Style & AHDI Student
Workbook, Etc. which costs an average of $50 - $100.00 each. Some of our courses come with these materials, and
others do not. This way you can choose if you want to purchase a less expensive medical transcription
course and purchase the mandatory items 1/2 way through the course, or if you want to enroll in one of our
medical transcription courses that have everything in it.
Another
way that we save you money is that we keep all of our course information on our web site for people to view
online instead of mailing out expensive brochures or large booklets to the houses of the customers. We also
advertise on the Internet, newspapers, and our largest advertisement is by referrals / word of mouth of other
students that have taken our course and are happy with the results.
A lot of other course companies will advertise by Internet, Mail, TV, Radio, etc. which is very costly, and
therefore they have to find a different way to recover those costs by charging more for the course
package.
We
are not saying that we are the only good or reputable Medical Transcription School because we are NOT
the only ones!
There are many good Medical Transcription Schools out there, you will just have to do your research and
decide which one you will want to go with.
